CC exam preparation in English: what UK learners should check

Check the details of your own UK exam appointment

Before choosing an appointment, confirm the test location, the selected exam language and the identification requirements shown by the official provider. Use the name required by that provider and check the appointment time in its confirmation rather than relying on a study calendar.

Essential information before booking

Policies may change. The centre, availability and final amount must be checked during official registration. KINTAVOR does not book the exam, sell vouchers or take part in the certification decision.

What it means for the exam to be adaptive

In a CAT test, the system updates its estimate of ability after each answer and selects a question that provides useful information for that estimate. ISC2 explains that questions may feel difficult throughout and that this alone does not reveal whether you are passing or failing.

Variable length does not mean some people receive ‘half an exam’. Statistical rules apply from the minimum of 100 questions and, if no decision is reached, the exam may continue to 125. The minimum includes 25 unscored pretest questions that the candidate cannot identify.

Why you cannot go back

After submitting an answer in the CAT, it cannot be reviewed or changed. Time management must combine careful reading and decision-making: spending several minutes stuck on one question reduces the time available to reach the required minimum. If time expires before the minimum number is answered, the official rule provides for failure.

1. First read which decision the question asks for: best, first, most likely or most appropriate.
2. Identify the main objective before comparing technically possible options.
3. Eliminate answers that are absolute, disproportionate or outside the described role.
4. Check that you have selected every applicable option when the question specifies multiple selection.
5. Finish and move on; do not let a question you can no longer change determine your mood.

700/1,000 does not mean 70% correct answers

The official score is scaled. ISC2 converts the raw result using a statistical process and sets the passing standard at 700 out of 1,000. That figure cannot be translated directly into “70% correct”. Moreover, the candidate receives a pass or fail result, not a numerical mark.

Candidates who fail receive information about their proficiency by area. A private simulator may display percentages and performance by domain to support study, but must not fabricate an ‘ISC2 score’ or guarantee the outcome.

Registration, price and next steps

The exam is scheduled through official channels and taken at an authorised Pearson VUE centre. The EMEA price displayed by ISC2 on 11 August 2026 was €191.04, subject to location, taxes and changes. This amount is not included in the £42.82 KINTAVOR course price.

Passing does not automatically complete certification. For CC, ISC2 states that candidates must then submit an application, accept its Code of Ethics and pay the first annual maintenance fee. The published AMF for members holding only CC was USD 50 a year on the consultation date.

The One Million Certified in Cybersecurity programme closed new registrations on 20 May 2026. Those who already received a valid code may have different terms until the closing date specified by ISC2; an academy must not advertise a free exam to new students.

What to prepare for exam day

Check your Pearson VUE confirmation, accepted identification documents, arrival time and centre rules in advance. The registration name must match valid identification. Do not bring study materials expecting to consult them in the exam room.

During the final week, reduce the introduction of new concepts. Work through the error notebook, review bilingual terms, complete timed practice and rest. Strategy does not replace knowledge, but prevents reading and timing errors.
